What is a CILS B1 mock exam?

A mock exam is a full practice run of the examination. Instead of practising one skill at a time, you complete all four sections in sequence, under timed conditions, as you would on the day.

The ProntoEsame mock is an independent, exam-style simulation. It is not an official CILS paper, and its timings and question counts are not a guarantee of the official format. Always check the current details with official CILS information and your examination centre.

What does the mock exam cover?

Before rehearsing the full test, read the CILS B1 exam format guide to understand the examination components and which details to confirm with your centre.

The mock follows the order Listening → Reading → Writing → Speaking. Each section unlocks once the previous one is finished.

Listening

Listen to everyday Italian recordings and answer comprehension questions, following the playback rules of the mock.

Reading

Read short everyday texts and answer questions that check meaning, detail and how the language is used.

Writing

Choose a prompt and write a short response that covers every point in the task. You receive feedback on your text.

Speaking

Record a spoken answer on a familiar topic, then review feedback on relevance, organisation and language.

Why complete a mock exam?

  • Exam familiarity

Meet the four skills in the same order you will face them, so nothing about the structure feels new on the day.

  • Timing practice

Work against a timer and learn how to pace yourself, rather than spending too long on one question.

  • Understanding question types

See multiple-choice, true/false, written and spoken tasks and practise how to approach each one.

  • Weakness identification

Find out which skills and which language areas cost you the most marks.

  • Reviewing performance

Look back at your answers and feedback to decide what to revise next.

A mock exam is a preparation tool. ProntoEsame does not guarantee that you will pass the official examination.

Mock exam vs practice exercises

Practice exercises let you focus on one skill or one language problem, at your own pace. They are the best way to build accuracy.

A mock exam tests everything together, with time pressure and locked sections. Use it to check readiness and stamina. Most learners benefit from regular practice, with a mock at the start of preparation and again as the exam approaches.

What happens after a mock exam?

When you finish, you see your results for each section. Listening and reading answers are marked automatically. Writing and speaking receive AI-assisted feedback, which is unofficial and may differ from an examiner’s judgement. Your attempt is saved so you can return to it from your dashboard.

How to use your results

  1. Find the weakest section and start your revision there.
  2. Read the feedback and note the mistakes that repeat.
  3. Practise those areas with focused exercises and your Error Notebook.
  4. Take another mock later to see whether the gap is closing.
